    Beard Advice

Has anyone used a heated brush that straightens beards? I use one for my hair which works surprisingly well.

Have tried using my matte hair paste as well, but would welcome advice about products.

I use a normal woman's hair straightener on my beard. Also I used chemical relaxer that's typically meant for negro hair.

Use a good quality beard oil and beard butter it will keep your beard in better shape. Also use a wood comb instead of plastic, plastic is hard on the beard.
I would recommend getting a beard shampoo to use instead of regular shampoo it will help keep the beard softer.

Sometimes I put 'argon oil' in my beard too, it's supposed to be the best kind of oil for human hair, you use it like a 'leave in conditioner'. Although I hear that pure almond oil is good too. I think every pharmacy has a little bottle of argon oil.

I put chemical relaxer in it maybe 2 or 3 times a year, and immediately afterward I use a very thick cream called a 'hair mask' and I leave it in over night (to try prevent my beard turning into a hard wire brush). Same goes for when I occasionally bleach my beard. If I do anything to my beard that could potentially damage it, I leave the hair mask in overnight.

No matter how much damage you do to your hair, you'd be surprised how much it can recover. One time I put high strength chemical relaxer (intended for negroes) in my beard for about 6 minutes and it totally ruined my beard, I was left with a hard wire brush. So then I just put in a lot of argon oil and hair mask for a few days, and it was fine again within a week.

Those GHD hair staighteners are really good but you don't need to spend nearly that much money. I bought a hair straightener for £10 (about $13) in a shop in an airport in England about 2 years ago, it's still working fine today.

No chemicals for me, but thanks. The heated brush is not really for straightening for me, but it reduces some frizzy hairs that have a mind of their own. As my beard gets fuller, I’m going to give it a try, there’s a lot out there on the market.
