Any OTR truck drivers here? is it possible to do cycle while on the road
This post or inquiry is for OTR truck drivers or former OTR truck drivers: is it possible to do a cycle while on the road given the nature of the job limited access to almost everything??
Lets find your experience or advice and whether it can be safely done and obtain or maintain good bodily results

Long haul driving while on a cycle would be very difficult to do, you don't have access to gyms on a daily basis or even 3-4 times a week at a minimum.
It would just be a waste.

Thinking truck stop food and sitting for such long hours too...it’s a sedentary job.

If you can figure a way to get enough sleep at night and a way to get to the gym regularly. You could get a portable fridge for your food and a 12 volt reheater to get it warm.

You would have to bring your weights with you and cooler your food.
Unless you were already hard core dedicated before you started I don't see it as feasible.
Even then... it would be farfrom ideal.

I’ve done OTR and Turnarouds for year’s. Luckily I’m a driver, operator and heavyhaul trucks are day cabs so I’m literally in a hotel every night I’m gone. When we are on turnarounds were usually at the same hotel for a week or two at a time or longer so it’s easy to find a gym and eat better.
Years ago when I first got my CDL I went with an OTR company and put a year in over the road. I was literally in terrible shape after that year because it’s almost impossible. Your best bet is to get that year and then find something local. I was lucky to find a crane company that sent me to school to get my operators license after a few years.
Unfortunately nobody will touch it if you don’t have any experience with a CDL.

Either way, I’m rooting for you. I’m on the road quite a bit for work and struggle at times with diet and exercise...and that’s dealing with nice hotels and sit down restaurants.
I’m between two massive interstates and see firsthand the health toll long haul trucking can have...it doesn’t take a genius to see the impact it has on the people in that industry (at least what I see on I25, I70 and I80).
That being said, I’m cheering for you and as the fellas mentioned anything is possible with preparation and discipline. I don’t want to deter you from your goals and this place is always a great source for insights and motivation. If you want it, go fucking get it. Just be willing to put your work in.
Godspeed

Doing a cycle is easy. It's the workouts and diet that is more difficult, even with a permanent residence, much less a vehicle.
