I think you should help your friend get a job, he has transportation and you could provide shelter for him for a month or so until he can find affordable housing. Does he have a mental disorder like many homeless people do Where i live that prevents him from employment or does he just want to sell drugs? In that case, i would not try to make my living on pct drugs or anything gym related.

I'm just back from a 45-day holiday in the Canary Islands so I suppose I'm not strapped for cash, and also I'm currently waiting on a $500 airsoft gun to be released from customs.

But anyway I sleep on a mattress on the ground too, by choice. I picked up this habit at a Buddhist meditation centre where they said not to have any 'high or luxurious beds'.

Oh and of course make sure you park your van somewhere that it won't be clamped or towed. The temple might even have parking, ask them.
