There's a small community in the Canary Islands who lived in hilly areas, and to communicate with someone far away, they devised a way of whistling so that they could whistle a unique sound for each consonant and vowel. So basically they took the Spanish language and turned it into a 'whistled language', and they can have a conversation in it.
Scientists took native speakers (native whistlers?) of this language and put them in a brain scanner and it showed that they used the linguistic parts of their brain just as if they were speaking a normal language (not like how morse code communicators must consciously decode each message).
There'a a group of people in Africa who went a step further with it and started communicating their language on a drum. (They're called the Yoruba people and I was actually at a Yoruba wedding for my Nigerian friend back in 2019).
The world is just madder and madder the more stuff you look up, it never ends. Seriously I don't understand those billionaires who get bored with life and decide to euthanise themselves... just keep digging for knowledge and it will always be interesting.
