Ammo Prices!!!!!!!
So,
I have been quite preoccupied with things in life & what not - had a minute today to take stroll to the Sportsman’s Warehouse right next to my gym - haven’t been to this gym for a while.
Anyways - what in the fuck?!
A dollar for a 7.62 round?!!!!!
And a maximum of two boxes per person per day
What in the hell?
I was buying these for a tad over a quarter over a year ago
This is some serious asinine shit
My jaw dropped
I knew stocking up years ago was a good idea - but, ummm - wow

And now that they know people are willing to spend those kind of prices for ammo, it's never going to go back to the way it was. They'll always come up with some sort of "shortage" and people will be gladly paying $1-2 a round.
Handloading is even worse. My local store is charging $20 for 100 primers (all kinds except .50 bmg those are more). I got a bag of 250 62 grain hornady .224 boattails for around $40 (not including shipping) and I had to give my name and phone number so they could call me when a powder that will work with 5.56 comes in (and they limit you to 1 bottle per day).
2 years ago, I would've walked out of the store if they told me these prices. But I like to go shooting and handloading is a hobby. I'm not going to tap in to my emergency supplies to carry me through the drought, so I pay and feel like they've done me dirty the entire drive home.

Have you checked the price of lumber in the last year?

No, I haven’t. . . But, I just heard this from someone the other day actually
And, yes - what goes up - stays up. . . Prices don’t fall
This is insane! I swear, my jaw dropped - how much for what & max of that
The shelves were just empty - I used to stop by this place every time I was on this side of town & drop 50 bucks & come out with a bag full
I guess hand to hand combat will b most cost effective here shortly. I’ll just carry my Bowie knife instead.

Sorry for derailing your post. Back on subject I was trying to find some .380 ammo not long ago and some .40 and not only were the prices crazy high there was none to be found even online except for a few places and $$$$.
I finally decided I needed to check my Ammo box and see how much I had left. Hmm well a little over 1000 rounds of each plus about 1000 rounds of 9m and 45 so Im good for a little while. lol

Ammo has gone down in the last month or so. 9mm was floating around 60 cents for range ammo now it’s down in the 30’s
Look up AMMOSEEK.com it’s a search engine for ammo sales updated by the minute.

Does anyone else reload 5.56?
In order to fit new primers in, I had to use a deburring tool in the primer pockets to remove the crimp. And also in order to prevent the neck from collapsing when I put the bullet in, I had to use the deburring tool inside the neck.
Anyways after doing 500 of them, my fvcking hands are cramped up from the repetitive motions with the small objects. Anyone have a trick to doing this that makes it easier? I'm using once-fired, Lake City brass.

I hear you and thats also why Im not doing a lot of target practicing right now but for the most part that is always just for fun. Im not worried about hitting my target (large body mass) when I need to and not going to be shooting at anything out of range or worried about missing.
