One if the all-time great series “The Wire” and an amazing role. Hey heaven? Omar’s coming!

I saw that yesterday and I read an interesting article about him.

They mentioned how the character of Omar was one of the first, if not the first homosexual TV character whose sexuality was not a focus of the story or important part of character development. I thought that was interesting because we see more “light in the loafers” type gay dudes portrayed on TV so I thought it was cool to see a gay gangster everyone was scared of. I’m a straight white male so I have plenty of examples to look up to but my little half brother is gay. I think it is good to see different types of characters instead of cliche stereotypes on TV.

I’ve watched the wire all the way through so many times but I’m gonna have to watch Omar rob someone one last time.

“The farmer in the dell” whistle is fucking amazing…who knew a children’s song could be so ominous.

Really was amazing actor…loved him on the Wire and on Boardwalk Empire
