    Freakish TV Luck Ramblings

Eating lunch, went to where the movies are (HBO, Cinemax, etc.) and yes, we’re the idiots that pay for the overly expensive premium package for cable. First stop “Eastern Promises”, not only that but exactly the moment right before the steam room fight scene (truly a classic if you want to see a buck naked, inked up Vigo fight off two guys with knives). OK, that done; hey look the last portion of “Day of the Sicario”. Got to love Benicio del Toro in that role). OK, that done, “Collateral” with Tom Cruise just when it heats up the final third of the movie. Little known movie, but one of my favorite Tom Cruise movies.

Nice way to spend the afternoon. Now it’s on to feeding squirrels peanuts in our backyard, while I get toasted.

Alright it’s not as zany or entertaining as one of Kimbo’s threads but thought it was a cool happening.

Oh BTW, RIP Dave Draper. You guys see his physique in his 70’s, daaaaang.

So no comments on the Eastern Promises naked knife fight?

Watched “Pig” last night. New movie with Nicholas Cage. Now to watch his movies, most times you have to be able to tolerate his style of acting, this was no exception. Very stark, not very believable. Honestly it was just like John Wick, but instead he is a super chef who went into retirement after his wife died. And yes, he had a pet pig (that could find truffles) & somebody kidnapped the pig. They didn’t steal his pickup truck though, lol. Odd, but we dug it. I think you have to dig truffles and cooking. Thus a perfect post on an AAS forum.

Didn’t love it for the gore value, but it was damn well choreographed fight scene. The knife defense was accurate and spot on. However the thought of defending yourself from two fully clothed dudes with knives & you’re completely naked? Yikes!

I saw Sicario (great flick) but not Sicario Día del Soldado. Is it a sequel?

It is a sequel, yup that’s the one I watched (many times). I actually like Sicario Dia del Soldado a bit more. Benecio really killed it in that movie, the guy is an incredible actor.

Streak extended a week. Turned on “Man on Fire” just before he starts cutting the dudes fingers off. Great cameo by the cigarette lighter.

Been reading a ton on the drug epidemic, so decided to re-watch “Breaking Bad”. Hot damn that show is GREAT. Blew through season one, half into the second. Damn, that actor made Tuco an amazing character. Looking forward to seeing the two cousins soon!

Just like potato chips, you can’t have just one. This series is binge-watch city!

Sequel was better than the original....which was pretty dang good.

Wife not sleeping well recently. Have watched " Don't Breathe" and "Don't Breathe 2". ( The sequel was also better than the original).

Holy cannolis is “Breaking Bad” incredible! Generally the wife and I have to watch no less than 2-3 at a sitting. Saul takes command of every scene the very second he appears on the show. Jessie is not nearly as annoying that I thought he became at the end of the series. Gus just made his first appearance, can’t wait for Mike.

I used to think higher of Walter White, thinking that the purity of his cooking was somehow kinder & safer to his users. After reading about the P 2 P technique of making meth without ephedrine (which Walt does), the man is nothing short of a monster.

Hell yeah. Enter Mike and the 2 cousins. Saul continues to steal every scene and Gus is amazing. Ripped right into season 3. 3 episodes a night is the norm.

Not likely to be a popular movie here, but “Don’t Look Up” was pretty damn enjoyable and well acted.

Tearing through season 4 (done tonight). Damn, I had forgotten about some things. Holy crap, when the new “Better Call Saul” starts it should be great. No idea if they bring Walter and Jessie back, but oh my, what a nice touch if they did. There are definitely some gaps in this series that they have room to expand and fill. Actually will go back and watch a bunch of BCS that tie the two series together.

4 episodes left on final season of Breaking Bad. This season must have been an afterthought. It’s still good, but dude did they stretch it out. 3 episodes ago the wife and I both remarked as to wtf they were going to do for 7 more episodes? Happy we are doing it, as next is Better Call Saul (but only things that pertain to BB). Ozark resuming in a couple of weeks, hell yeah.

How the f did I watch stuff on a 15” black and white TV with tin foil on the antenna as a kid? Saw the first Super Bowl that way, damn. Seeing Bonanza for the first time in color was trippy, the trees were so green.

Rambling cause I just killed a workout, feeling the energy.

Holy crap. Read a book called the “The Last Narc” & was amazed/sickened at the same time. Just finished the 4 part documentary series of the same name on Amazon Prime utilizing the real people involved, simply unreal. Serpico or Donnie Brasco has nothing on these dudes!

The Mexican cops, turned cartel bodyguards, turned DEA informants (now in protective custody) were incredible. I’d mention a name of someone they discuss, but after reading/watching about these guys, I honestly would be afraid & regretful that I did.

Onto another book called Desparados with the same disgusting information about the failed drug wars.

Call the support. You can find useful info athttps://www.firesticktricks.cоm/amazon-firestick-customer-service.html if needed. I think they'll help you. As for the alike series, watch Don't F**k with Cats. And old Narcos is also still good.

Don’t F*** with Cats was crazy.

I’ve only seen the first season of Narcos. After reading the book “The Last Narc”, he was originally offered the job of contributing to the series, but the makers didn’t want him after the scandal he caused getting to the bottom of the killing of the agent. The drug related movie called “Savages” was great as is the Sicario movies.

Looking forward to the new HBO series “We Own This City”.
