Snow Crab is a big business...I like them better than lobster. I sold Snow Crab clusters when I sold frozen seafood (commodity trading)...lots of Snow Crab goes into the U.S.

Shit...before they set sail every year, the snow crab fishermen have a conference with the "Seafood Association" or something like that, and they have decide on a price per lb that they get.
They said a for the 4 cent raise this year, that bring in an extra $12 million total for all ships.. They got paid .90 cents per lb. this year...figure that out. Divide that by 100 or so ships, and that is some bling bling.
Dangerous though. One person dies per week on the avg.
Because that is the 'storm season' up there, and they travel 200 miles off shore to get the cream of the crop. That's a LONNNNG and dangerous flight for the Coast Guard Chopper...Scary shit.
If you capsize...basically - say good bye.
