I stretch before every workout and while I'm recovering from a workout, so every day I stretch. I've studies martial arts for years, so I do the stretches that I learned from there. I don't know of any sites with stretches. I would guess a yoga book or site might have some good stretches.

It's really uncomfortable because my legs basically suffocate me, but i can get them there no problem from years of martial arts.

I find no use in stretching before a workout. What is the point in trying to stretch a cold muscle ?? I just warm it up in whatever way I feel necessary whether it be with light weights or a cardio machine (being that it's legs).
Afterwards - another story. I stretch out to keep things loose.

I warmup with light weight, stretch, workout, stretch between sets and after.
I heard that stretching right after a set can actually tear the muscles a little bit, increasing the effectiveness of the workout. Is there any truth to this?

I used to stretch the muscles I was going to work on pre-workout. Now I find I get better results from adding an extra set of each exercise on the beggining with VERY low weight. At such a low weight It's kind of like exercise specific stretching.
Nixter.

I just warm up with 5 minutes on the elliptical. Then a couple sets with lighter weight. Depending on how I feel I might do a little light stretching then. But I read that stretching before lifting actually diminishes your strength slightly. I do almost all stretching afterward, unless I begin to feel tight during the workout.

NO! bdtr............I believe anything you say you can do bro..........but no pictures! hahahaha
I don't streach before a work out unless I'm doing quads and hams. Generally I do my cardio before working out so I'm warmed up but after my weight session I'll do some good streching.

I stretch after workouts. I was a gymnast and continued stretching and I haven't lost any flexibility.

stretching does help me only between sets and after workouts to lossen up the stiffness... doesn't help as much as light weights before workout

I deffinitly do. It's best to be a little warmed up before stretching but don't stretch inbetween sets (doing some light cardio for 5-10 mikes to get warmed up does the trick). Also - don't use quick stretching motions but more of a continous stretch for about 20 seconds per angle.
Stretching is good for the connective tissue and keeps you flexible while gaining bodyweight...

I stretch before and after. If needed I'll also do some stretches before bed and when I wake up.... yeah I'm getting old.

I stretch before each workout. I also make sure I am properly warmed up prior to starting.
