Aren't you guys jealous?
In the past few weeks i've researched my mind out with respect to IGF-1. I've gone over clinical experiments with IGF-1 effects involving everything from muscle wasting, chrones, lipid profiles, bone density/growth, cancer proliferation, tumor sizes, life expectancy, insulin profiles (diabetes, hypoglycemia), athletic performance..MS, DMD, nerve regeneration, and on and on and on. As soon as it's done i'm going to post the paper in the steroid forum, with all the positives and negatives, for everyone to see and make their decision. I'll be honest with you guys, the cons definitely don't appear to outweigh the pros at this point. Basically, the research says that if you have precancerous or cancerous cells, if you have high serum IGF-1 your cancer grows faster. If you do not have cancer or precancerous cells however, it does not increase your risk. High IGF-1 levels are attributed to a longer life expectancy in the elderly, for many of the same reasons why it causes cancer to spread. It does appear however, that excess IGF-1 has a negative impact on your lipid profile.
Oh yeah, it also makes your muscles grow. Duh.
I'll throw it all together in the steroid profile, I don't want to spoil it all now.
