    where can i find the FDA food db list

    I need access to the entire FDA Food Database, know where I can find it?

    ok also, does such a program exist where you type in the # of carbs, protein, and calories you want, that will provide you with a list of pre-thought of meals?

    Hmmm I really couldn't tell ya. I haven't come across such a program, but I guess it would be doable (specially since you can download the entire USDA food database to your pc, I have it on my Palm!)

    yeah i'm thinking about incorperating the idea into my site, although that might take FOREVER to input all of the food results into a database.

    The problem I see with suggesting meals or foods is that you have to figure a way to make sure the program would offer edible ideas...

    Or else if it only went by protein and carb count, it would be suggesting stuff like tuna or salmon with peanut butter and cottage cheese on egg noodles...

    Definetly an interesting problem...

    true, one way you could try to solve such a problem would be by asigning values along with each food... like 1 for morning food, 2 for lunch, 3 for evening... and then just asign a value of "0" for universal foods that can be eaten anytime.
