Talking Big 'Ol you oughta be proud of me....

Today was leg day. Had one hell of a routine . My quads, hams, and calves are ****in killin me!!! I was most proud of what I did on calf raises. I finally hit the 500 mark. . But when I was done my back felt slightly cramped at the bottom. BUt it was pretty sweet because my calves arent that big, but alotta people were starin at me. And almost all the trainers said "hey , good job today. You did really good!". I guess my calves grow fast or something...because a week ago when I started trainin them really hard, I was only doin 360. But I decided to go all out today, and see how far I could go. I got 6 reps on the first set, 6 on the second, 4 on the third...But for me, my calves don't hurt until AFTER i am done. They felt good, but when I got in the car and got home to my friends, that's when they hurt like h'ell. But I liked it..... Never felt a pump that big.. Just felt good about today, wanted to share it with you guys thats all.

Hoss... sorry I missed your thread...

GOOD JOB! the reason your lower back was tight is beacuse when your going heavy on standing calf raises you need to really concentrate on keeping your midsection TIGHT! dont let it move back and forth.

    good work man... im proud!

Thanks. . But I hear you need higher reps for the calves because they are made of fast-twitch muscle fibers...I thought about trying a lower weight, but with higher reps. Maybe 100 for 3 sets. What do you think about that?

Good advice on keeping the midsection tight Big Ol. Hoss make sure you do that for all major lifting especialy squats and deads....in fact it's best to do it all the time. Save that back at all costs.
