How did you guys get those jobs? I'm sure you didn't go to college. Are you guys in sales? I'm 26 and it seems the only jobs you can get if you don't have a college degree is construction or food service.

Prolly around $50 . But I'm in college so I'm supposed to be poor, plus I'm used to it.

I went to college but as with most, the job I trained for will only get me maybe 15 dollars an hour. Maybe 40k a year but it would be dead end.
I told my friend to get me an interview with his boss in construction. No interview, his boss just picked me up at 4:30 one morning and I started from there. I excelled faster than any other newbie, so he bought a new truck and equipment for me. I quit two years later to work for a better company. That boss died leaving me and my new buddy to either buy his business or start our own. His wife didnt wanna sell us the business cause she had no faith in us. So he started his own DBA as did I. Our two companies put our previous company out of business and a big FUKC YOU to his wife for being a bitch.
Last year, my business doubled its income and allowed me to branch out into other prospects such as buying property and building houses.
I figure my business has 6 more years of prime function before the market becomes saturated. So builiding and selling will be my fall-back option.
Just go to work for a small company that feels like it has potential. Become friends with the boss.

God I remember the college days. Couldnt find a job and a place to live all at the same time and started falling behind from there. Literally breaking the piggy bank just to have money for gas. Trying to arrange places to stay so you arent at one place two nights in a row.
That sucked. I could manage the no food thing, but I needed gas money. Running out of people to ask "can I borrow 20 dollars" for money.
That was the worst I ever felt. I had a house but I still felt homeless and broke.
I shoulda just got a dorm and banged all the chicks walking thru the halls.

It is too disgusting to even type!! If I have a full schedule for the day, meaning 3 to 5 procedures, then the Gods rain $$$$$$..And as far as going to college, well, for years I felt like that's all I was ever going to be doing. Besides the Marine Corps, college has taken up the largest part of my life..But now I am reaping the rewards..I have said it many times before, human vanity is a beautiful thing!

If I worked everyday of the week I would have made 452 dollars a day last year. I only work 4 to 5 days a week and don't want to do the math. Hopefully this year will be twice as good.

whats a job???
-
01-13-2004, 08:44 AM #34
I dont make squat. I always have to work two jobs to make anything decent to pay my bills. School takes up most of my time. Have to pay for that and books. **** books cost as much as the class. Least now with all my credentials and schooling Im starting to get better job offers without even trying.
I was working at a military boot camp for troubled teens. That paid good. Paid me $120 a day cash. That last a couple summers. I work for a sales company and sometimes they dont even have work. Its a roller coaster with the pay. Sometimes Im reaping then I have no work and no pay.
I hope something comes through soon. I hate being broke all the time. Im a juice-a-holic too and even though I come across sweet deals its hard trying to keep up with that.

At my job, I make $20/hour. But after all those **** taxes, medical/dental, 401k, etc, I only take home $12/hour. At least my 401k has $60K in it now.
