Assault Weapon Ban

There is only one thing that rivals my love of lifting.... my love for firearms and military equipment. For those of us keeping count, the assault rifle ban ends in a liitle under 8 months..... It will be great.... I have always wanted an assault weapon..... I wnated to get one preban but they are just to expensive...... oh well I will get one soon.

I am suprised it hasnt recieved more attention. there was a ten year ban placed on assault weapons in 1994...... The ten years is almost up. I have been following the congress since the session started and as far as I know no bill has been introduced to extend the ban. You can still buy assualt weapons... however, they have to have been made before 1994. Fo those of you who are not gun buffs.... an assault weapon is not the same as an automatic weapon.

i have many assault rifles. pre and post ban are basically the same thing and i wouldn't plan on the assault ban to actually make it to sunset bro

Unfortunately, Congress is considering reinstating the ban with some changes.
They are really reaching for your firearms now....they don't care what the firearm is designed for, just that it is a semi-auto. The Ruger 10/22 is included in the new AWB.

Well.....this is america. I am all for owning guns for hunting and protection. I have some issues on the assault weapons but that's my issue. I personally own two handguns. In fact I just got my 2nd today. .40 cal Sig. That's plenty for me.

40cal sigs are nice handguns common in LE along with Glock.40 cals 23 and 22. Is your sig a double action also? If im not mistaken it is.

Yep I knew it. 40. cal double action standard issue. Most common in PD's for double action safety and constant trigger strength though out the pull.

That wasn't aimed at you....I find it a bit funny that someone that wants an assault rifle in the U.S. would make a comment about another weapon being impractical.

The whole reason we have firearms in to protect ourselves from government. Our country was born of revolution..... it could very well happen again..... especially given the recently seen moral degredation of society

IMO the citizen should have a right to bear arms and the right to carry but I think this should be limited. I dont agree with automatic and assault weapons. You cant even hunt with them. The bill serves its purpose to limit the citizen to certain weapons to protect itself. "Society is its worst enemy".

Also to not over advantage the police force. I dont like the idea of the banned mags and keeping them to 10rounds but the purpose is good. To give LEO's the advantage they need to overcome terrible situations of a fire fight yet not infringing the right to bare arms.

there is nothing wrong with assault weapons.... just b/c two idiots used them to kill people does not mean that they should be banned. THe best gun control is using two hands
