I love it... listening to Sheryl Crow right now actually. I suppose it's my romantic emotional side that can't get enough of it. I enjoy most all types of music though.

Country music is a festering boil on the ass of mediocrity.
If you have no talent, that's fine...pick some random, redneck STOOOPID phrase and repeat it over and over and over the same 3 chords for 4 minutes.
Of course, I like old David Allen Coe if I happen to be in the woods in the middle of the night drunk off bud in the can.....

Some of the old country is good, but I hate the new stuff. It's way overproduced. They have the same 3 or 4 songwriters writing the songs for all of the artists, so the songs all sound the same. There are a few exceptions, but most of the artists that suppposedly write their own material also have their songs written for them. It's an old record company trick to try and sell certain artists off as songwriters for publicity. I used to work at the main recording studio in Nashville, and know a few insiders that have worked with some pretty big rock and rap artists as well. There are so many skeletons in the closet of the recording industry that the general public wouldn't believe.

I listen to country most of the time, I would like to listen to other stuff while I'm working out but Lubbock just doesn't have the musical choices that I'm use to being from Austin. I think, for me though, the new Britney Spears CD (I know I know I'm a dork) would have to be the ultimate jam when I'm doing cardio... it really keeps me going and makes me run faster!

You don't have to like country music to be able to appreciate Hank Williams and Johnny Cash. They were more than just country, they were rock 'n roll and blues and soul. There were pioneers of many types of music. RR

Well, I can appreciate the purity of the poineers of country music. Of the genre itself, although it has it's origins in blues and bluegrass.
However, the abominations that pass themselves off as "country musicians" in this day and age are nothing more than heavily commercially marketed pablum spewers.
Country music= take pop of 25 years ago and dumb it down so that you can understand it no matter how low your IQ at the moment...whether naturally, or chemically induced.
No, country isn't my favorite.
