I haven't done it as a civilain but it was part of the job when I was in the service. All I can say is it's one of the biggest rushes I've ever experienced.
my parnts got me a skydiving gift certificate for christmas. gonna try it this spring. my knee is kinda frigged up so i'm a little concerned abou the landing
I haven't yet but i'm going to give it a go this summer.
I did... 15,000 foot tandem (I know tandem is lame, but i was broke at the time, and to take the classes was more $$$$, its better then static line anyways) I was 19, and i was a freshman in college, and my best friend and i were bored.. So we were like, lets go jump out of a plane!!!!!!!!!!
It was well worth it, No other feeling like it.. If a human could fly, that is the way you would feel.. It's not the stomach-nad falling feeling, its different.. then when you hit 120mph, You pull your chute, and everything gets silent..
I highly recomend it!!!!!!!!!! One of the best times you will ever have
I jumped off a cliff into a river once. Biggest wedgie EVER!!! Never again, im out!![]()
I would...But i'm afraid the dam n shute will get stuck in the bag!!!lol
I dont know if I would skydive...I would piss my pants first.
no way no how....hellllllll no........![]()
oh yeah i forgot you were a seal. what team were you on?Originally Posted by BIG TEXAN
My job affords me the opportunity to log about 5 jumps per month...I can usually only stand to do 2 per month..once you have done it so many times...the rush is still there...the doubt is still there (about the para riggers)..and your knees/back/ass will shot!
Its on my to do list b4 i die.
im just worried that the shute wouldnt hold me or the straps will break.
im a big ol boy =-)
its the ulimate ride. living in seconds...
Did it in the service and occasionally as a civilian..My wife has even jumped with me on 5 occasions..And I can say it is still one hell of a rush..And yes, I do still WORRY MY ASS off until the chute deploys and I know I'm not going to plummet to my death..Everyone should try it at least once..
Doc M
you never feel as alive as when your on the brink of death....wonder why that is
The one time i did jump, The landing was a nightmare...haha We misjudged the ground by about 8 feet, because it was twilight out,and we both slammed down hardcore on the grass.. I was like... Ughhhhhh hahaha... I also did some sumersalts i think we did 5-6 right out of the plane, that was pimp also..
I'd love to....if I could find somebody certifed that I would trust with my life. I'm a wuss, so I'd wanna go tandem my first jump. After that....it's on.![]()
It's something I've always wanted to do. I've never had the huevos to look into it seriously, but I think my goal is to do it after I graduate (another 3.5 years)...just something to set my sights on and hold myself to it.
oh yea, and by the way...i'm deathly terrified of heights...that may be part of the allure for me...kind of a chance to face my fear.
i have no fear of heights, but the first time i was standing with my feet half in the door lookin down i nearly lost my nerve. but omg does it ****in rock!
Did a Tandem jump over tha Forida Keys years back,it was awesome.
last time i was in the keys i had never jumped. but now i want to go back just for that reason. i want so badly to jump over the ocean onto a beach.Originally Posted by Da Bull
I want to try it and my girl does too, ive suggested it to her that we do it this summer but its not final yet, it would be a tandem jump.
How hard are the landings? My knees arent the best.
You'll love it bro...seeing the sharks below you gives you a nice rushOriginally Posted by symatech

But i havent done it, but i'd like to
Used to in the service, have gone a few times as a civi, but I still enjoy rock climbing the best.
For the life of me.....why in the world would you ever jump out of a perfectly good plane? If it's about to hit the ground then I can see jumping otherwise I'll wait till the captain turns off the fasten seatbelt light. hahahaha
It's on my list of things to do though...honestly. Just that when the moment comes when they jump.......I pedict a whole lot of crying......alot of pleading......then a fist fight ending with me going out the door with whoever in the hell finally pushes me out. That's just in the classroom! hahahaha
LMAO@ jugg..............maybe you should take a trip to OZ and get that medal of courage like your lion buddy did![]()
