Me and my girlfriend recently seperated. I went out with a friend to 6th street in austin the other night. Hooked up with a friend of his friend. We messed around that night, she was pretty drunk. I got her aol sn and imed her a few days later. Tonite we went out to dinner and a movie i figured it would be easy since we already messed around before. Got the cold shoulder or something. No contact whatsoever no goodbye kiss didn't even hold my hand. Sat with her arms crossed in the movie the whole time even though i had mine on the arm rest.... so i figured she isn't interested which is now driving me nuts bc she's not all that hot and i think i'm better looking than her(not to be cocky). I get home and check her aim and her away msg says: oh and i had fun tonight..the movie and dinner was great, night!

WTF?!? Now I'm stuck wondering if she's just reallyr eally shy when not drunk or jsut being nice.... i hate dating, i was so tempted to call the ex up tonite, thankfully i didn't.... sorry had to vent.

She wanted to exchange #s, I told her my phone was in my car.. So i told her to take my # and to call me the next night... Its one of those things where you wanna have a good time but dont know what the other person is thinking and then it gets awkward for both people. Both people tend to step back to avoid being shot down or what not. So the whole date is quiet because both think the other is not having a good time. Then once they are home they can safely talk about it without worrying about rejection or what not.

Im more talkative when I am drunk. Liquid courage and just not caring if the girl likes me or not. Either way, when I am really drunk, I am gonna have a good time no matter what people think. I agree with Berm. I think she is a bit shy. Alcohol lets us open up way more than we might sober. I am not "shy" but slightly reserved....especially when it comes to a man that I am interested in. When I have a couple drinks in me.....I am much braver about approaching someone. When you have that liquid courage, you tend to put your inhibitions aside and let yourself do things that you might not consider wise sober. Sober she worries that you like her for her, have respect for her...etc. I think that she probably appreciated the fact that you acted like a gentleman as opposed to a test ridden hard on. She was probably a little worried that because you had messed around before you would expect it again and get upset if you didn't get round two.

Try investing a little time and get to know her. If you want something other than a fcuk buddy. Show her some respect.....and dating might just "blow" in a good way.

Same goes for guys though only guys are too sexually immature to know whats going on. Hell if I knew what I know now, I would have been getting laid once a day every day when I was 16. Its just that at that age and usually up until 22, most guys arent mature enough either to handle a relationship.
Cant pin it all on the girls. Guys now a days act like retards around girls. So the 22 year old girls cant relate to a 22 year old guy cause the guy is probably still into highschool pranks and what not. I understand what you're saying, and I didn't mean to generalize my comments. In the four years that I was in the military I never had a problem with meeting good girls. Now that I'm home, all the women I've meet are out to play games or some crap. I have meet some good girls, but they get snatched up real quick . I just want to meet a sweet girl who knows what she wants, and wants to share part of her life with me.

Maybe my problem is that the only place I've meet women are at the bars and clubs, but hopefully I'll meet someone when I start school this summer. It just gets frustrating, and when the last 9 out of 10 women pull this crap, you start to give up.

I know females who are 40 and act like they're still 25, and I know some females who are 19 and act like they're 22+. It differs from person to person. The same concept goes w/ males. It's not the age that makes them a MAN it is how they act and carry themselves. As far as not being able to meet a quality person at a bar, I disagree w/ that. There are exceptions to every rule. I know some amazing people and even they go out to bars every now and then. Just because they're at a bar doesn't mean their self worth has just been minimized. Sure, it might not be the best environment to meet someone you want to have a relationship w/ because most people go to bars looking to "get some." It all depends if you can still connect w/ someone outside of that atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, your odds of finding a decent human being outside of a club are much better.
