Great things my man has done for me!!

Well, he's my best friend, my training partner and he's working on being my man. For the last year he's been my knight in shining armour!!!

When I had a bad day at work, I went to his house on my way home. He took off my shoes, put me on the couch, covered me in a blanket, held my hand, ran out got dinner and spent the evening making me feel better.

When I was having trouble with my daughter, unlike everyone around me, he supported me and stood by me. He didn't pass judgement or try and blame me for what has been going on in her life.

When I was in my crappy abusive long term relationship and for some stupid reason I stayed with him.....he held me when I cried, supported me when I went back again and again...and when I finally ended things, he stood by me when I finally had the courage to walk away.

When I was down and out and depressed he was by my side. He knew that I was dreading Valentine's day because it represented all the things I wished I had in my life and was missing....

he showed up at my house with dozens of balloons, roses, stuffed bears and cards....

He hugged me....told me he loved me....and brought a smile to my face that hasn't left since that day!!!!

Wow I wish I felt that way and was like that with my g/f. Sometimes I dread coming home to her.

Thanks Spy. I'm having one hell of a time learning to believe that. The scars from the last relationship are DEEP. I'm normally a very self confident person and I lost a lot of that. It's a fight every day not to allow the damage from him seep into my current situation.

Well....I wish I had advice for you there. My ex husband and I had the same problem. The only solution....seperate homes, seperate STATES on opposite sides of the U.S. We are actually great friends now.

You have to look at those "little" things and decide if they are worth getting on one another about. If they aren't, make a concerted effort to bite your tongue when you get the urge to bitch. Try thinking of something positive about her instead.

How old r u if you don't mind me asking and how old is she?

Just reading between the lines.. that's what i thought..

although i don't really know you.. i know enough that you have value... and even having someone you hardly know, tell you that you deserve to be treated good.. better than good.. can sometimes make a difference..

take him at his word.. face value.. life is a journey... you can't change what has happened in the past.. you can't go back... you can only learn from it, take what lessons you learned, and don't make them again..

enough... everyone deserves to be happy..

Your exactly right. Here's some reasons why I can't tell what to do:

-Ive been dating her for 2 1/2 years and shes usually good to me and I stayed in Ohio for her and passed up a free place and everything paid for in Arizona.

-She has always told me I could succeed and had confidence in me in everything I tried to do.

-But, I am getting tired of being with the same chick every single night.

-I constantly get opportunities to be with other women, but Im usually pretty good about turning them away.

-But if I want other women, she calls over her bi-sexual friend and we go at it.

Ahh ty. I'm not sure I'm ready to open up 100% to a new relationship as much as I would love to. I worry about losing my best friend. But wow....if we can get together and stay together......what more could a girl ask for...being loved by and in love with your best friend.

The one thing I noticed is.....he never said he loved her. You've been together since you were about 19. You are still figuring out who YOU are. How do you know exactly what you want in a life long mate!! I married my exhusband when I was 19. I was TOO young. Before long...little things got on my bloody NERVES. I realized I didn't even LIKE him.....let alone LOVE him. By then I had two kids.

Only YOU can decide if this is the person you want to spend your life with. If she isn't ..... do her a favor. Cut her lose. It may hurt now....but it's far better than two or three years down the road, a kid or two in the house, etc. IF you do love her, then you have to look at the REAL things and decide if you can deal with them.

Why are you living together? Why do you stay? What is it about her that keeps you there? Are they legitimate reasons or because of habit and comfort.

My opinion? (That and $1 will barely get you a cup of cheap coffee) If you like this guy, quit wasting time and proceed onward. It sounds like you POTENTIALLY have what everyone wants, it would be a shame to miss the opportunity.

And what do you REALLY have to lose? A friend you think? Nope, because if he's as good of a friend as you believe he is, you won't "lose" him if things go to hell.

CB, this guy sounds like someone really special..especially if he was there while you kept going back to the abuse..he sounds like he will always be by your side through thick and thin....THAT..... is what I call something truly amazing that not everyone gets to experience in a lifetime.

My sr. year of High School the guy I was dating (and still dating) asked me to Homecoming in our local newspaper. It was the sweetest thing ANYONE had ever done for me. It read "Christian, I Love you with all my heart, and I wanted everyone to know, will you go to homecoming with me? Love, His name" It was freakin beautiful. He is the greatest guy in the world, and I thank God everyday that we're together and that he's in my life. I don't know where'd I'd be without him...he's the love of my life...
