Dawn Of The Dead
I just saw Dawn of the Dead like a half hour ago... It was crazy good. Yall should all go see it. Definately better than the originals, probably the best horror/scary movie ever. I was like, hell yeah kill those zombie mother ****ers! It made you feel like you were right there with them. ANYWAY, go see it.

Saw it last night and I have watched all the old zombie movies when I was a kid but this blew them all out of the water by far, awesome movie.

i agree. i pulled my son out of school to go see it and it scared the sh*t out of both of us i was hoping it would be good but it exceeded my expectations by alot. i definitely recommend this movie to everyone especially fans of the genre.

It was good but I was expecting more of a story... like trying to figure out what happened and trying to figure out how to fix it... like the resident evil games..

nah, it's not that scary, but the action gets started like right when the movie starts. stay and watch the credits in the end, too, because it shows like an alternate ending kind-of thing.

I have watched the origional one like 20 times. Is it the same sort of story line.

same sort of idea, but this movie was awesome. the cinematography and editing really made it work. the ending could have been better - left you hanging a little bit

Apparently the director was aiming to get an x rating so he hired some tech guys to make it really hardcore but the producer/editors execs etc wanted to get it out in all the cinemas etc so they cut it and toned it down a bit so it only got an R (or 18 in the UK).

That movie was a f-ing riot!!! Me and my gf were the only white folk in the theatre. Everyone was crackin' jokes and screaming. You definitely must watch the credits.

I hope when the DvD comes out they have the directors cut. That should be awesome if they cut alot from the film.

I saw the movie a while back. And I think it did exactly what it was supposed to do. This is no "great" movie, and naturally no one expects a freaken "story line" or anything remotely clever.
It was full of those surprise fright scenes, lots of shooting, lots of blood, and it's a good movie for it's kind. Don't expect to be seeing an Oscar winner here, which NATURALLY anyone going to c that already knows
Although the ending may have left you unknown EXACTLY as to wut happens, it's QUITE clear what happens to "them" at the end, I mean, come on.

Make sure you stay through the credits...
Not as good as the original, which in my mind will always be the best, but it still was worth watching.

I own the original and have watched it more times than i can recall. Georger Remero is a great director. I have met Tom Savini who did the special effects in Dawn of the Dead and Night of the living dead among many other great films. He is very big in my area and does a local horror show.
I actually had night class with one of the original creators of night of the living dead. he was a really bad ass dude and wrote me this huge informative paper on "how not to get screwed out of money when making a movie". He did this as he explained on the paper because George Remero Ripped him off and out of all the profits made from night of the living dead and a big court battle...he recieved $1.25. Pretty F-ed up!! He helped write the original and played the cop at the end of the black and white film.
I am excited as hell to see the new dawn and am suprised i havent yet. If they left out the helocopter scene with the zombie gettin his head chopped off im gonna b pissed.

heh, sorry for bumping a nearly year old thread, but insomnia is getting to me. i crawled out from under my rock and finally got a chance to see the unrated dvd version recently. movie was pretty good. nice to see some convincingly lethal zombies in these type of films for a change. the dvd bonus features were badass, going into a lot of detail about the makeup fx. i caught shaun of the dead before this one and thought that was nicely done too.
guess i'm on a zombie flick kick lately...

The unrated version was very nice and the extra features were great too.
If you saw the rated version, check out the unrated, its worth seeing again.

Shaun of the Dead looks pretty good, I'd like to rent it sometime soon.....

Shaun of the dead was hillarious, but still managed to be gory and a good zombie movie. Kind of like a DEADALIVE style movie, with a little less slapstick.

Hmm.. I'm def. going to check it out then....
I was under the impression that it was going to be more... sarcastic/satire... I suppose... guess not....

It is someone sarcastic/satire, but it still retains zombie quality.

yeah, i was worried shaun of the dead would be pretentious, but it was **** funny imo. forgot to mention that i checked out resident evil: nemesis as well, which was chock full of badness. terrible film. lol, they all make me wish i could play a zombie extra though. looks like it would be a lot of fun...
