    Warning Check The Gas Pumps!!

    Got This from another board i visit kinda scared me:

    Dont know if you guys know about this, but in Florida and a few other states (Missouri, Virginia and some others) there is a very sick joke some asshole(s) is/are playing on unsuspecting motorists at Gas stations.

    They are affixing hypodermic needles to the underside of the gas pump handles that are tainted with HIV positive blood. *When the person goes to grab the handle to pump the gas, the needle, which is broken in half, then pokes the hand or finger.

    17 cases in Florida alone have ben reported so far 8 of which have resulted in the infection being transferred to the victim. 12 have been reported in other states.

    I am NOT making this up!! *My mom works for the Illinois Dept. of Public Health and received this email today from a friend of hers, Capt. Abe Sands of the Jacksonville PD. *

    I just thought the members would want to know and advise others of this danger. *Let me know if you have heard something similar or what.

    People have nothing better to do but hurt inocent people.......... I'm gonna have to start crossing the bridge to NJ to get gas ....... over there they pump your gas for you.

    Man there are some f*cked up people out there, I remember a few years ago in BC (probably other places to but im not sure) people were putting HIV infected syringes/needles in the coin return slots on payphones, so someone goes to get their change back they get stuck. What is the point of doing something like that.

    lets consider how much effort would be needed to make this myth a possibility.. and then lets think of the logic behind it.. why not just walk around and poke people on the train or the bus.. if they notice just say oh sorry.. and also the hiv pathogens are very sensative any exposer to air would kill it..

    This urban legend has been around a while... I first heard about it back in 93. They even had it on some show where they never could find a confirmed case of it.

    Well i am safe. In Nj it is prohibited by law to pump your own gas. You have to let the attendent do it for you.
