I bought a rabbit for my kids for easter and if you try to come to my house to eat it...you'll be greeted at the door with a buckshot

Rabbits are very tasty.... but I prefer wild hare. The taste is a little gamier (which is what I like)
Keeping rabbits as pets is actually illegal in my town... SPCA had the law passed by town council when they got tired of receiving several hundreds of rabbits a week after easter each year.

Never eat wild hare unless the animal is killed in the winter time.. preferably in the cold north............. too many worms otherwise.....

Fortunately that infestation hasn't made it up where I hunt yet... (north western quebec is probably too darn cold all the time).
The main problem with hare up here is a parasite which lives in the fat between the skin and meat (and I can't remember the name!). It is reccomended to wear gloves when skinning the animal as the parasite may be passed on to humans thru blood contact. And obviously like all wild meats, it must be well cooked.
