help me name this movie

can anyone remember the name of a movie where a guy dies and he has to earn his way into the next level of heaven or be sent back to earth and reincarnated? i think he ended up doing something risky at the end, like jumping off the train he was on back to earth to transfer onto the other train where the girl he loved was on, and that earned him a place in heaven. i thought bill murray was in it. anyone have any idea?

It kinda reminds me of 'What Dreams May Come' but that had Robin Willams in it, and the plot was, he the guy (williams) was killed in a car accident, went to heaven.. Then his wife committed suicide (because he died) she went to hell for killing herself, then he went through so many stages of hell to get her, so she could be with him in heaven..
