That shouldn't make a huge difference. I think Canada's advantage is in net. Joseph and Brodeur are very qualified, and Belfour will be a good cheerleader. Russia only has Khabibulin (good goalie, but doesn't have a backup) and Team USA has a couple of senior citizens (Richter and Barrasso).Originally posted by BaSe

I guess you can look at it this way: Belfour was arrested for being drunk in public, and Burke was arrested for domestic abuse. Personally, I'd rather not have either one represent Canada. Roberto Luongo would have been a good choice because he would benefit from Olympic experience, and thats important when it comes to being a starter one day.

funny thing is that of all the goalies on the canadian team none of them made it to the all star game. and all the goalies on the north american team were canadian. hehehe i personally think that jose theodore should be on the team

The USA has the best defence and Richter comes up huge in international play. Gotta go with team USA. One thing for sure the gold and Silver will be in North America.

Wow, Sweden won. Thats just one though. I am happy with the way Canada played in the 3rd period, especially Eric Brewer's gutsy goal on the pinch. The first three games only determine placement in the quarterfinal games, so technically a team could lose the first three and still win the gold medal.
