Question about Delt injections....

hey bros, just wanted to know whether a 23G 1.5" needle could be used for delts? If so do you go in all the way as shown in spotinjections.com?

i would go with a 1 inch at max, i go all the way in. if your bf is low you could even use a 5/8 pin. 1.5 inch is way to long unless you have 20 lbs of fat on each shoulder which i doubt you have. it could be used just dont go all the way, an inch is perfect for most people. i just started doing the delts a few weeks ago, what an easy site to hit.

I usually use a 25 gauge 1" and go all the way in and it's perfect
I have also used a 23 and a 22 gauge 1" pin and IMO for most injects
you don't need the larger gauge, it just builds more scar tissue......

A 23 or 25 gauge is pretty good for all IM's, 1". 25 may be more comfortable....experiment for you.

cus I really need to try a new injection site and i figured delts would be the easiest. How common is it to hit a vein? Anyone have any problems with that......

You could use the 1.5" pin just don't go the full length....... go in about a inch...... Why cause more trauma to the injection site when there's no need to......... also, you may want to try 25g pinz they go in nice and easy.

i just did the injection and everything went smoothly........I used a 23G 1.5" but didnt go in all the way. I aspirated, and injected 2cc's. Is that too much? Should I only do 1cc for delts?

I feel a lil tightness/soreness is that normal?

Depends on how fat your shoulder is. I use a 23 1" and go in about 3/4 of the way.

Relax. This is the first time you hit delts. It is always gonna be sore the first time you hit a muscle. If you see any redness (which willl happen a day or two later) on the muscle area, don't be alarmed.

i figured it was just the muscle being sore but I wanted to make sure because the only other site i have injected were glutes and they never got as sore as my delts are the same day.

That's because the butt is a bigger muscle. I'll bet if you pushed on the butt where you injected, it's probably a little tender.

shoulder inj always got me nervous, i always picture the pin hitting my shoulder bone or something.
