Aside from the use of AAS - it's won't ever be cheap to be in this game. Basics like grocery bills (sugars are cheap - protein is expensive!), quality gym memberships, clothing/accessories, ... it all adds up I guess...

But at 18, I was spending all my money on keeping and active gym membership and buying chow - no where close to using PED's... so much growth is possible without them with proper diet and training strategies...

When I was 18, almost 18 years ago ... tisk tisk... I could not gain a freakin pound. I ate everything on my plate, went back for seconds, ate in between meals, drank TONS of whey, ate aminos and worked out 5 days a week with a very good training regiment. I do NOT believe that just because you are young that you can gain weight. I was not able to gain weight until I was about 23 years old. Now, I can pack it on like a champ. It has to do with your metabolism and whether or not your test levels are decent.

To answer the original question, and to get the thread back on track, "how do we make enough money"? Because a lot of folks that do it have full time jobs, are out of college, have high paying jobs, etc. I have been working working in tech firms for 8 years. You will definately have enough kizash to fund this shiznit.

you have to decide where your priorities lie, eg spend the money and piss it up a wall getting pissed everynight (something i used to do a lot of a few yrs back) or dedicate yourself to buying food and your gear, you can't have both, but once your happy doing what your doing your not as bothered about being skint.
At 18 id lay off gear for a few yrs and try growing naturally JUST to see if you can do it, now im in my 20's i can put weight on much better than in my teens when i had about 6-7% bodyfat (those were the days) now its about 12-14 at a guess

Well I'm also young so I can give my story! Turned on to Steroids at the young age of 17 and i basiaclly started selling needles to all the older guys who coulndt find a source for needles. They paid 2 bucks a pop and i ordered them for 14 bucks per 100.
