Got fined in Mexico - should I pay it?

Well I never thought I would get fined for bringing back Clomid but I did!!!

I walked across and they fined me $500 or $5000 after 30 days so gave mme a month to pay $500 or the fine goes to $5000.

Should I pay it? All I see them doing is sending this to collection.

Don't mess with the government, they are not just creditors. THey will end up getting their money even if they have to garnish your wages. Best thing to do is pay it.

My brother also had the same thing happen a few year ago, they got him for bringing 200 red-jects of sauce over. They fined him 500, "got it the mail" and detainted him on the border for 3 hours!!!
I think 500 dollar is really not that bad its better the being aressted. Pay it and forget about be happy your not in JAIL!!!!

did you get the fine in mexico or when you were returning by US. customs? if it was in mexico i would say screw them, but just dont go back to mexico, and if it was the US, then i would pay uncle sam his money.

if it was in mexico you should have offered them 200 pasos(20)US. That keeped me from going to mexican jail twice.

Dirty mexican cops will require the "fine" to be paid right then, so it must be the US customs that caught him.
