Problem Aspirating
I always use to shoot my glutes without aspirating. until last week i think i hit, nicked, or went through a vein. I had a bad taste in my mouth followed by an uncontrollable cough. Today i shot my glute and aspirated, as i pulled back on the plunger, i noticed a big drop of blood enter the syringe. I pulled it out and started a new one. the second one, i only pulled back slightly and saw air bubbles only. my question is, i've shot my glutes over 100 times without aspirating and only once did i have a problem. today when i aspirated for the first time, i got blood, could it be....
1. i pulled back the plunger too much causing blood to get in ? or
2. i coincidently hit a vein again.?

if your not in a vein or have not nicked one then no matter how hard you pull back you will not get blood. only when you are A in a vein or B have in some way damaged a vein or some other part of the circulatory system will you get blood (even if you nick one you would have to be close to it in order to draw up blood, if you were to pass through it you may not get any blood which is fine)
i think it's coincidence you just happened to hit one when you went in

It could be a pocket of scar tissue if the blood looks really dark that is most likely what it is
