I think you can keep SOME synthol gains after prolonged use. Continually adding to a big bolus of oil in the muscle should do two things... cause a buildup of scar tissue, and also stretch the fascia. I am GUESSING that more or less continuous use for a couple of years might yield detectable long-term gains. But I don't think it is very cost-effective in that regard, or worth the risks.
