what everday drugs affect muscle
I was wondering what everyday drugs, hinder or effect muscle gains?? what about things like tylenol or anything in foods?? how about things people would never think of wether its a drug/food/or action.
any information is welcome!

ibuprofin reduces inflammation and DOMS symptoms, but may also delay muscle recovery, especially in distance runners.
excessive alcohol will dehydrate you. dehydrated muscles tend to break down much faster.
i don't know anymore off the top of my head, but here are definitely more out there.

tylenol is not even close to oral AS in terms of liver toxicity on a per mg basis, but none-the-less bad for you.
thought of another...
caffeine at night will ruin sleep and hurt recovery and growth.
allergy meds often cause drowsiness; decreased endocrine function
corticosteroids (catabolic steroids ) causes weakened immunity, leading to possible sickness and infections, not to mention their very strong catabolic effects.

hold on i will copy the study of the effects of vicoden vs an oral AAS....the people who used vicoden had higer liver values then the people on aas....vicoden has acetamenophen in it...750 mg's a pop...on a mg per mg basis it might not be as bad....but over all...pill for pill basis it is

well, arent they all opiate derived.. and harsh on the liver?
In adults, hepatic toxicity has rarely been reported with acute overdoses of less than 10 g and fatalities with less than 15 g. Importantly, young children seem to be more resistant than adults to the hepatotoxic effect of an acetaminophen overdose. Despite this, the measures outlined below should be initiated in any adult or child suspected or having ingested an acetaminophen overdose.

I've smoke a lot over the last year (a quarter pound in 10 days over Christmas) and I haven't had any gyno problems. I haven't smoked in a while now though..partly cause I got busted!!!

Anything that reduces the metabolic rate can adversely affect gains. Anything that directly influences the liver can slow down protein synthesis.
Opiates such as codeine (tylenol #3, codeisan, perduretas), hydrocodone (vicodin), oxycodone (percodan, roxicet, tylox), hydromorphone (dilaudid), and the family of methadones (nubain, demorol, darvon, talwin) do not have hepatic toxicity but would hurt gains because of a slower metabolism and lowering of your aggression levels.
Street drugs are obviously a big no no. Pot adversely affects hormone levels and fat burning. And on and on enough said ...

How about sleeping pills? Do sleeping pills hinder gains when taken at night?
