    Finding the gluteus medius?

I have heard its the muscle right above the area that dips in when you flex your glutes.

Seems that this spot is really far out, almost on the hip?

Any easy way to make sure I am sticking the medius?

    thanks

Make four quadrants in your right cheek and poke anywhere in the top right square. For the left glute you would of course to it in the top left quadrant.

I take my thumb and forefinger and measure straight down from my hip bone about 2.5 inches. Then I leave the forefinger in place and rotate my thumb down to my ass and thats where I stick. Easier to show than explain in writing.

I think this is a great question so I am bumping it for anyone who has good ways to find "the spot". Could be really helpful to guys that are new to glute shots.

    Bump.

Bask8kace has a thread on this. I don't know how to attach things.

    I have two good ways:

First is to flex your glutes. Where your ass 'dimples' in, its the muscle right above that dimple.

Second way, if your not sure if you have it correct from flexing, put your hand on your waist. Where your thumb meets your hand, the area between the thumb and forefinger, its approx 1" below that if your hand is sitting on your waist.
