Because those numbers are realitivly easy to reach naturally. If you can't come close to them, then you're not at your natural potential.

I see a lot of guys on steroids who are benching in the 200's. IMO that is pathetic. I would be embarassed to tell people I was on steroids.

I actually dont know if I can bench 315. Hell I havent benched with a straight bar since HS. I know I do more weight on DB's than guys do that bench 315+ so does that count? I hit 3x8 with 137lb is that qualify you think? I know its not close to the 150's you do on incline

Could you throw up 315 when you first took AAS? I know its been awhile but I didnt know anyone at that age who could do 315.

I was about 140 when i started to be honest, had crazy strength genetics. my grandfather was an oldschool strongman in germany, but he wasn't that large. My mom can squat 300 and barely trains, was built for strength i guess.

Thoes who base their legitamacy in the weight room or AAS by thier bench are off base in my opinion. If you think about it squats and deadlifts are a much better determinant of strength. I can only bench about 300 ( always been my worst body part) but yesterday i squated 405 for eight (that is rock bottom BTW) and I can dead lift about 575 1RM. I think if all you have is a big bench then you have no business on AAS.

I was the same way in highschool. My bench was only like 315, but my squat and dead were both over 500.

So what you're saying is that you need to have some pretty good genetics (or work out for at least ten years) and be strong as hell from the beginning to hit the gear?

I know many of you think that the best point to start is when you have reached the natural potential and can't get any further.. But what's wrong with doing steroids if you're a "weak pussy" that only got the base and want better results? Is it morally wrong or what? I respect your opinions but you are practically calling the majority of the juicers loosers. When newbies ask questions people advice them to wait till they are "180 lbs and 21"..

Shouldn't the doses have anything to say in this matter too? I know I could/should train longer before I hit the gear but I want to go low doses not even 500 or 750mg test per week or doing bdtr-cycles.

Bdtr you have to take into consideration the person’s size. I could not bench 315 sh-it after my cycle I would be happy if I could hit 315 for 4. But on the same note I am 5.4 150 putting up 235 for 4. If you ask me that am allot for my size. Now that I’m on the 4 week of my cycle my bench is up to 250 for 4. Also my squats went from 285 for 6 to 315 for 6.

If you dont have all your gear/pct ON HAND you should not start

I have seen some pro bodybuilders who can barely reach those numbers.
For example shawn ray on the flat bench in his video and its off season, struggles like hell with 315 gets about 2-3 reps on his own before his spotter starts doing upright rows

It depends whether your goals are bodybuilding or strength training
