    SOURCE PMs sent to you by members

    Lately a few members have reported that they have received unsolicited PMs from members that announce a "new source." People who do these sort of things are almost always scammers.

    If you receive a PM like this, immediately forward it to one of the VETs or MODs along with the name of the person who sent it to you (just use the foward function in the PM section).

    Do not buy from anyone that sends you unsolicited PMs.
    Let's keep this thread bumped to the top for a while so we can alert as many members as possible.

    Yeah I immediately sent it to bdtr as he is known for banning people.
    The problem is they will just sign on as another user and do it again and again. I noticed he had no posts and was international the funny thing was my domestic prices that are honest and legit were actually cheaper.

    Yeah something needs to be done. It gets annoying and people can actually fall for these scams. It only hurts the legit guys trying to do good business but have no rep because nobody is willing to try them for fear of losing money to people like these guys. Its sad. We need to band together on this one.

    Also, remember, whether you're a new member or not, using the Steroid.com PM feature to solicit buisness will get you banned. Several UGLabs have done it and been banned for it...and several others are living in a fantasy world, thinking that the staff here doesn't know who they are, and that they aren't being watched VERY closely.

    The MODs do not have access to your PMs. They would have to ban you and change your password to access your account.

    NO...thats not what I meant...what I was saying was that basically all of the UGLabs who operate on the 'net are known to us (meaning we know exactly who they are, who gets free gear from them, which people are financially invested in them, which boards/admin/mods are in bed with them, etc...). Between all of us staff members, we have a good understanding of what's up with the source/UGL scene...plus, members can give us info as well (i.e. "I did a source check on XYZlabs, with this person, and he said forget XYZlabs, use ABClabs") which helps us get an understanding of who is doing what behind the scenes.

    Basically what I'm saying is that if you do your source checks with us, show some patience, and trust us, you'll reduce your chances of being scammed exponentially. We're here to keep you guys safe and educated.

    And if you are a source or UGLab, or Admin/mod who is tied in with one....we probably (99%+) know who you are as well....

    (Especially if you keep telling people to use that lab when they use you for a source check on a totally different lab!)

    I can't read PM's. But yeah, I guess a mod could change your e-mail to his own address, then use the "lost password" feature, have the password sent to him, and log in as you to check them.

    I can read deleted threads, though...as well as deleted posts.
