Where do Pro BB get their gear?
I was reading the other day that Pro BB use anywhere from 30k to 100,000 (maybe more) of gear per year, my question is where do these guys get their gear from and how? I mean that is alot of gear, do these guys buy from black market suppliers, direct or what? Does anyone know???

I think they get it from their sponsors. More the BBer look good more "legitimate" stuff they'll sell. So they'll cheez it up a little by giving them the juice. I think....

Yea that sounds about right. It's still not fair! On average what do you think they make a year?

a lot of them get it the same way we do and are often sources themselves. i know of 2 pro bb on the boards right now who buy and sell. don't bother PMing me, i'm never gonna say who they are.

sadly mistaken
i would say the worst of genetics in the pros uses 30,000 worth of gear and the only reason they do that much is the unbeleivable price of growth not anabolics. the top ten pro,s are the only ones that are actually making any money so they couldn't afford the type of gear you hear about from uninformed peeps. jesus could you imagine 30,000 worth of just juice you would have to be hooked up to a iv while going to the gym.i would say that greg kovacs probably spends the most.

I have many friends who have told me as many as 75% of guys at the top shows have gay men as thier sponsors. These are men who have been *escorted* by some of them. They have even attended shows and after show parties with them, and have seen some of the *cavorting* that goes on there.
It's the reality that many here on this board and others would go to their death denying. I'm sure even someone like Dr. Evil even knows the truth to this, but will not ever publically say it. Just wouldn't be PC and they are too macho to accept it.
Sorry to be so sour, but I have an opinion on this and couldn't hold my fingers from typing it I guess I could get flamed for this but I had to say it.

For those of you who don't believe that some BB's don't use around 30K of gear, I was reading that alot of BB amatuers even, are now using HGH, know how much that is? Hell just a 1 year cycle of that stuff will cost you a few grands.. Not to mention all the other stuff they stack on top of it. I think that figure is very realistic, and some of the Pro's (Mr. Olympia guys), probally spend in the 6 figure range according to an article I read.
That is alot of gear. I would think that alot of guys have doctors subscribe it to them, but how do they keep the "authority figures" from busting them? I mean come on, they know they do gear.
How do they protect themselves as well as their suppliers and possession of that much gear???
Makes you wonder doesn't it? Make me wonder...

And usually those sponsors are gay men who ask *favors* from the BBers. It's a compromise for many, many BBers; either they give in and sexually compromise themselves and get their gear, or they suffer and don't get to the top level without it.

Hmm don't know about this one? I mean what do gay sponsers have over non gay sponsers? Yeah I am sure there are some sponsers who are gay, (as in every aspect today) but not sure I would agree totally to this statement, but hey if I am wrong I will admit it, just hard to believe that 75% do that.???

Okay maybe a company would once you get to the Olympia stage, but at the Jr. Nationals and Nationals stage, you are an unknown, and on that top level you are still spending upwards of $ 3k to $ 4k a month on gear. I know from a personal experience someone I know who I helped last year, and it started out as an escort experience.
As in any small and closed community, gay muscle lovers have a place on the internet where they have gathered and share information on their experiences, both good and bad. I have met at least 6 guys in person that have competed in the Nationals through www.muscleservice.com . Check the Muscle Competition and also the fourms. The password is lust to get into the fourms.
I know in person and have met more than one BBer that is competeing or has competed on the national level and they of course have discussed with me a possible sponsorship. The discussion always included how far the BBer was willing to go with me. Some go all the way, some have limitations.
This is BBing's Dirty Little Secret and I know many guys here will not believe a word I say, but that would be typical and very understandable. If they believed it they may never look at the BBers the same way again.

I was more concerned about how they get their gear, and how do they hide all of that gear not how they can afford it.

im sure their are some gay bbrs who wouldnt mind supplementing their income by escorting some creepy guy with a ton of money . but for the straight ones there are plenty of oppurtunities to get paid that dont involve turning their asses into hot dog buns .
47John I hear a lot of anger in you response. No need for that, no need to hate the messanger, hate the message. This is what happens when you have one guy (Joe Weider) controlling almost all of bodybuilding. He can make or break a guy by having him under contract. He also pulls the marionette strings on the amateur circuit as well. Jim Manion is his bitch.
By the way not all men who hire escorts are creepy, some of us just enjoy a muscle fantasy once-in-a-while.

i personally am not gay , i wouldnt try to get a girl into bed by promising her anything though , nor i would i sleep with a woman for any material possesion .
being gay doesnt change that .
maybe i am not the one who's angry , being "straight" isn't at the forefront of anything i ever say and i dont feel the need to explain myself for it either , and it does not make every other sexual thing i do seem somehow more acceptable .
but my original point was that bbrs who do sexual favors for men probably smoked pole to begin with and may not have needed that much incentive . and what about all the models and actors in ads and commecials let alone movies and magazines ? they get paid too , dont they ?

As for sleeping with an escort, I would think you mean having sex either oral or anal.....who says I have done that? Many of the men I know that hire the muscle dudes, hire them strictly to pose for them or to let us touch/and or oil their muscles. I can't trust that someone is HIV- so I would never have sex with them. Mine is a muscle-worship fantasy.
I still think a great deal of BBers get their gear in that fashion; either by barter for muscle worship or money for muscle worship.

I believe it happens bro, but 75% at top shows. That's kinda hard to believe.

escorts are hookers , if you open up your yellow pages you can have a hooker at your door in an hour , i wasnt always so concerned with right from wrong , especially around my divorce .
but i am assuming that in the gay community escort means the same thing -- sex for $

Ron, on the serious side, I know it sounds crazy, but the guys I have talked to have told me that 75% of the guys do it in some form. Anything from my muscle worship scene to full blown sex. The guys say that most of the sponsors just are into feeling and oiling them, but some do want much more. They are paying a lot of money to these guys and they want their money's worth.
Just go to the Muscle Service Station ( www.muscleservice.com ) and check it out if you don't believe me.

if it was an older lady and she was hot.. and had a boat load of HGH to off load.. i might move a couch.. but that would be it.. never for some guy.. it would make me throw up... but for some older hot lady.. i'd think hard about it...

For some old hot lady, or not so hot if the price is right. Not now cause Im married but if I were single, a pro, and the money would help me win .....you don't even want to know what I would do. .... But not a guy. Hell no. No offense Canes. Its just not my thing.

canes you're right. many of these bber's are egomaniacs and I would not put gayosity beyond them. not many of us can reconcile this because we have no concept of what hardcore bb lifestyle is like. there are always dirty little secrets.
