Drink lots of water. You have to keep yourself well hydrated so your kidneys are healthy, muscles full and you aren't overtaxing your body.
Drinking less water will not cause you to hold less water. If you were in strict pre-contest mode that is a different question entirely, but for a regular cycle you HAVE to drink tons of water.
