do you use deadlifts? upright rows? deadlifts normally make my traps grow so quickly that i don't have to work them by themselves.
also, when i have a problem with a certain muscle not growing, i hit them a little at the beginning of a workout, and then they are pumped up throughout the workout.
i would spot inject gh, enth, deca, and synthol into them and then do heavy shrugs w/ straps.
Use straps for more weight and mine also wouldnt grow for some reason until I started working them out every other day! try it!
yup, traps can be worked almost as often as calves (at least fo' moi).Originally Posted by needle

heavy shrugs with straps and drop set the last set to complete failure, exhaust them until you cant shrug at all, then go home and eat eat eat works everytime...
I'm a big fan of doing upright rows, then reverse shrugs, then shrugs
What???? Please tell me your kidding!!!!!Originally Posted by John Stamos' Nephew
heavy deadlifting works every time!
i personally love heavy upright rows, do about 5 sets of those, then about 5 sets heavy d-bell shrugs, and rverse shrugs as many reps as you can do for another set, mine are growing through the roof, i do this 2 times a week, works great
try this do some d-bell shrugs but keep ur chin touching ur chest that will make u concetrate more stress on the traps then id say do some reverse and front barbell shrugs with heavy weight
nothing beats upright rows... I do them close grip and then alternate to wide grip... then I do a final few sets of upright cable rows where i squeeze back my traps until they fel like they are touching each other...
dead lifts are good as well, but first try rows and keep going slower and slower until you finally feel the muscle connection and the pump...
HEAVY is the key man. You gotta go heavy on shrugs, and they shall grow. Example: Im 195lbs, 6'1", but i shrug 520lbs for 7 reps+. Upright rows, deadlifts, etc. Just do things heavy.
holy **** bro thats nuts
I agree on this one! Heavy is the key. My traps used to suck. But after going really heavy they are pretty impressive nowOriginally Posted by Hed

i cagree with everyone heavy is key but as long as you can do them correctly... i've seen some people go heavy as **** but barely move the weight.. don;t go so heavy you can;t move it but yet feel like youre working it..
I do shrugs for directly working them and then on back day which is separate I do deads and upright rows which have helped alot, some chinup variations can add as well.
Heavy is always important, I like to finish off with one lighter set at the end to really hit them hard with good form.
i have got mine to really grow lately by doing heavy smith machine shrugs. pick up the weight and slighty lean back, tuck chin into chest and sqeeze my traps more towards the back of my head than towars my ears. then finish them off with either d-bell or diamond bar shugs...sometimes both.
WBB
Explosive High Pulls...
if you can shrugg it 8 or more times, it's too light and you need to go heavyer
keep it simple
do about 5 sets of deadlifts
then 5 sets of very strict shrugs
vwallah
traps
do it twice a week thx
First of all post your question in the correct forum. Secondly, totally ignore this ignorant statement.Originally Posted by John Stamos' Nephew

jesus christ... you need testosterone in that cycle or you risk ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION during your cycle and possibly months afterwards.
My traps grow like weeds...probably faster than any other part. Upright rows seem to kill them. Do tons of upright rows and shrugs (good form). They will grow.
I just started concentrating on them around November and now my traps are almost 4 times as big as they were, they grow fast and easily especially if you are on androgens because you have a super high number of androgen receptors in these muscles. You'll probably end up developing your deltoids really good trying to get at your traps.Originally Posted by firstinmia
Lateral lifts are really good, also any machine that you pull, like rows, lateral pull down bars, etc all develop your traps and delts like crazy. Barbells doing straight out lateral lifts, shrugs, etc all also develop the traps. Machines for developing your neck muscles are also recommended so you get balanced development.
