Nizoral 2% is by prescription as mentioned before. I use it for psoriasis-best I've ever found by far for that purpose, does it have some use related to AAS?

Nizoral (ketoconazole) is an anti-fungal shampoo, one of the helpful side effects is that it lowers DHT levels locally. I have used this and it is effective.

Spirolactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic used to treat high blood pressure, when applied topically in a cream it also has the helpful side effect of lowering DHT levels locally. I have not used this but I think it is a little steep in price compared to Nizoral shampoo.

Nioxin is a herbal 3 step scalp therapy (shampoo, conditioner, and after-shower topical solution). I question the effectiveness of Nioxin but my wife is a cosmotologist and the all the girls at the salon swear by it. I have used it in conjunction with the other medications, so I can't say whether it actually works by itself. It is pretty expensive, but my wife gets a discount from the salon supply stores.

I use Nizoral shampoo faithfully from the beginning of cycle until PCT is completed, I apply when I first jump in the shower, bathe the rest of my body, and don't rinse until I am ready to get out of the shower ... it needs to stay on your scalp at least 5 minutes before you rinse it off so the medication has time to absorb. I also try not to massage the scalp too much to prevent further hair loss, I also do not shampoo before or after or use any conditioner while on cycle as the extra oils your body produces while on cycle tend to recoat your hair within several hours after washing anyways, so why use conditioner? Once I am out of the shower I usually apply some Rogaine which is also OTC, and once before bed. This usually keeps hair loss in check if started at the beginning of cycle, if I notice hair loss during this regimen I up the Nizoral to twice/day. I prefer the 2% shampoo but the 1% does not require a prescription. If I were to invest in the Spironolactone cream, that should be applied to the scalp before bedtime and you should shower in the morning.
