is DHT the only thing that causes hair loss?
is DHT levels the only thing that causes hairloss? or is it caused by other chemicals which steroids convert to
ive heard that tren doesnt convert to DHT, but ive also heard tren causes hairloss
so if tren REALLY doesnt convert to DHT, and tren DOES cause hairloss.. then it must be something else that causes hairloss besides the DHT...
what would it be?

I think androgenic damage also plays a role in hairloss, for this i heard nizoral shampoo is helpful. As for DHT, finasteride (ie. proscar) can help. It depends on if your genetically susceptable to mpb.

I don't think u'll get an answer anywhere (esp not here). Much of the scientific community is not totally convinced that it's DHT.... Yet the only proven treatments R those which inhibit ( or prevent? ....whatever) DHT -- such as finasteride and dustasteride. Minoxidil IS proven.... to do very little. All other treatments just, at best, postpone the inevitable because they treat some of the many things that cause TEMPORARY hairloss.
I know i haven't answered the Q; but , again, my answer is that a great deal of research will NOT likely yield an answer. As far as any drug causing MPB: there of course is the indirect route via which the drug raises test which then in turn converts to DHT.
Transform's post about androgenic damage is good and plausible ( altho we'd still b hard-pressed to I D exactly what's happening. )Last edited by forsz; 06-26-2005 at 04:43 PM.

Estrogen also plays a role & I've heard IGF mentioned as well ( cant remember the details ) DHT is prolly involved, but maybe only indirectly & is prolly only part of the puzzle -
The good news is that like with Viagra / Cialis & ED etc it's a very big prize for the pharm companies who can improve / create better hairloss prods, so there is plenty of motivation ($$$) to research more, I'm sure the next 5-10 years will bring us more info & cool hair meds.

dht
DHT must directly or indirectly play a role in hairloss. I am not predisposed to hairloss, but I recently added Var to a Prop/EQ cycle and shed a few hairs. I upped my Finasteride and all is well. I do not get the "male pattern baldness-vertex", my hair recedes. Everything on the market is made to deal with the "vertex" hairloss, i have seen nothing for a receding hairline.

ANYTHING that is androgenic will make you lose your hair, so all steroids will make you lose your hair (more or less) DHT is blamed just because its so extremly androgenic (5 times mora androgenic then test),
