If you have your docs script, you can take it with you (get a copy of the script before you leave), so if there are questions, you can show them your script. If it's a lega script I dont think there's anything they can do about it. Just be sure not to take the pins in a carry-on, box them up and put them in the check-on bag.

I'm not so sure they'll even look for the DEA number. I think their main concern is that you're carrying a product legally (and you have a script) and that it's not a dangerous substance.
If there is a question raised, and you do catch some hell about it, be sure to have the docs (or pharmacy) phone number on hand so they can call him to confirm the script. But I honestly dont think it would come to that.
