newbie questions

Ok i see a lot of people with customized pics, i'm new and have went to my profile and there is a part that says referals, mine says 0 what is this and how do iget them. I realize i'm new and might take some time for people to get comfortable with me, but i would like to talk or have some buddies on this to ask ?'s or interact with. I feel were all somewhat in the same boat, and feel everyone has something to offer. I admire you all and know there are alot of hard working good people like myself out there and would love to be in contacts with them. please feel free to add me to any buddy lists. thanks for your tome and patience with a newbie!

referrals means..when somebody joins the site, it will ask them how they heard about the place..if they put your name down, then you have a referral.. Sure i'll be your Buddy !! lol
