june 8 2005 pm – went to sports ortho specialist, he confirmed a complete tear off the bone, but said tendon and muscle looked good, and said this is a easy repair. if the tendon had come away from muscle lots worse.
he said he would put some anchors in the bone and using a super strong stitching material fix the tendon
june 17th
had my op lasted 2.5 hours
I woke up in a special sling which fastens round waist and shoulders arm is bent 90% at elbow and facing forward.
This sling is hell to wear cannot sleep in it , spent most of time sleeping in armchair for a month.
Jul 18th went to see sports ortho. He told me operation was a success and gave me a basic cloth sling.
If I keep my upper arm straight against my body can move at elbow and hand, motion is severely restricted.
Will begin physio at 6 weeks post op jul 29th.
I have photos of injury at all stages will add.
