Question about sources

I've seen this a couple of times but I don't know what it means. When someone says, "he (the source) went private". What does that mean?

hes not asking for a source or checking, hes asking what it means when, lets say someone says "ye -H- shutdown shop hes not out there anymore", if thats what u mean then it means they arent selling, im not sure if going private means tha same thing, may mean they r tryin to stay low profile and arent openly selling to anyone anymore
