I am not aware of it, but look at some old vegetable oil some time. Feel it. Smell it. Compare it with fresh stuff, bought at the grocery store within the last year or so. Vegetable oils do break down. That's why you don't put wesson oil in your truck engine. All gear is made with some type of vegetable oil, be in castor oil, grapeseed, cottonseed, safflower, sesamee, whatever. After 7 years, no telling what you got. I would toss it, or keep it as a souvenier and a reminder to not leave stuff stashed where you can overlook it for so long next time.
