SCAMMED - just a heads up

Hey all - just a quick heads up to watch out for some scumbag who recently scammed me. I was dealing with a great contact before and all the sudden I get an email from this guy telling me about the gear he gets and what not....so I feel him out for a couple weeks and he sounds totally legit - and his prices are better and he is in the USA which will make things easier (so I think) as my original guy is overseas. Anyway - I place the order and I don't hear from him for 2 weeks. I figure he is busy filling other orders and what not so I wait...then concact him via email and he tells me that he is having his supplier ship everything out on sat as he got a bunch of late orders...bla bla bla....well another week goes by and i dont hear anything from him - so i want a few more day then i email him again and he goes "dude, thanks so much for emailing me as i cleared everything from my laptop as my shipper got busted at the post office with all the gear - as soon as he gets out on bail he will straighten it all out" - so obviously right then and there i know ive been had and i just wasted 600 bucks. I figure I'll play along at first to see if he might cooperate and give me my money back somehow (basically i was doing everything to help me from killing myself for doing something so stupid)...after a few emails from he sends me the following email

listen jerk-off,

I told you that you shouldn't trust everyone you meet. I dont know why you keep emailing me as you aren't going to get your money back

I told you to go on your stupid little bodybuilding forums and ask the mods about me.........I bet they had never even heard of me........

Now for the last time - leave me alone - you've been had. And as for your threats - you might be bigger then me but you won't find me so give it a rest.

i know dude i know - i promise you im totally savy to this kind of $hit - this was truly a stupid mistake on my part. its a 600 dollar lesson. this guy was slick - had some info that really made me believe he was legit...knew a bit about what i was into, ordered before ect....not like that is impossible to find out of course but he played it all well. I'll tell you what - id love to meet up with him and every pussy out there that does this stuff. its such a trash move

I'm actually surprised he even bothered to respond to you - $600 is a hellva lot of $$$ to lose like that.

Ordering small to get to know a supplier is a smart idea (although some of them wait until they get a big order before screwing ya)

i hear ya dog - i did that at first actually....then 5 days later i sent him 400 more to just complete the order and get it over with. totally foolish on my part man. the dumbest thing i have ever done with that amount of money. my own fault and i deserve what i got. i just dont want this a-hole to get anyone else.

the question was, what was the name of the lab for the gear you was trying to get from the scammer? i'm not asking for a source. Reason why i ask is if someone is trying to sell something from a specific lab, people will kinda get an ideal what to watch out for. The scammer can easily change his email addy but still try to sell the same gear

just wanna make sure you ran this by a mod or someone they get pretty pissed when people call out scammers or what not without running it by them. Actually i think it's against the rules (although i do realize your pissed)
They are ways to find out where these people are... the mods have many ways of finding people somehow.

i remember like a year ago some dude was scammming people and they actually got his addy and such. someone got pics of his house... i think those who got scammed got money back as well due to this lol...

Rule # 6 Never deal with a source that uses a hotmail, yahoo addy etc.
Any source that uses a email address like that should be a huge red flag that he's a scammer.

save the copies of his emails, look at the header information and see if you can find his ip address..then go to http://www.dnsstuff.com/ and look up the ip by city, then do a whois and find the isp he's using...if it's from an isp that i have a contact with i may be able to help you out..in at least finidng his general location..but with hotmail, i dont' know if the original ip is included in the email, but it's worth a shot....

i def appreciate all the looking out here fellas...this board is great for stuff like that as we all have common interest and one things for sure - we hate pussy scammers!!!

i got an email back from the dude last night as i havent heard from him for over a week - i sent him an email yesterday with 2 pics attached of me and that i found out where he lived and he responded back

"ill have your money in your paypal account on friday when I get paid"

so we shall see what happens tomorrow....either i get my money back or im spending another 600 to pay him a visit. either way it will be worth it for me. in a sick way im kinda hoping that he doesnt pay me back.
