Hit 300lbs. Bench Tonight!
Title says it all. I'm pretty pumped up since the last time I maxed years ago I could only hit 265lbs.
I'd liek to think it was all natural, but I have taken two short cycles.
In March, I took a 4 week cycle of 100mg/wk. Deca . I was using it for MTBing and joint pain, although I was working out with it to. Until I got sick.
I just concluded 200mg/wk. for the past 2 weeks. I quit due to a nasty allergic reaction.
Today in the gym I was feeling pretty low. Me and my buddy made our way around to the bench and I threw my usual weight on, but was feeling pretty good after hitting 225 7 times instead of my normal 5. So I stacked on the weight, straight up to 300. He looked at me like I was nuts. Then I hit it. No hands on from him.
I'm feeling pretty damn good right not, espescially since I look like I a bad example of fraternity hazing right now.
Anyway, I know it doesn't seem much to you meatsticks out there, but I just had to share.
Thanks for looking.

Thanks fellas. It's 2AM and I'm still on a high from it. I'm hoping I don't plateau out just yet. I'd like to hit 315 before the month's out.
Thanks.

Good Job Bro! Just keep focusing on getting better, dont force it. The last thing you wanna do is injure yourself right when you are making a move, ya know. 300lbs then to 315 is only a 15 pound differnce, but Bro, in weight lifting, that little amount means a Big difference. Example: I was inclining 120lb dumbells. I wanted to try the 130's. Man, even though it was only 10 pounds different per dumbell, I felt like I might s**t my pants if I continued to try it. LOL. But good job again.

Yea, I know what you mean on that, too. It used to be shoulder that acted up pretty bad when the weight increased. So I started using more dumbells as a way to build up that strength in that particular area

I try to increase each time on workout days. I want to make the stuff I use work, so I work harder than usual. I knew from years of weight training, I was always pretty strong, but with football, injuries prohibited alot of progress. Last week, my bench press at 365, i got like 3 reps and tried for 4, but failed. Yesterday, diferent story. I got that f**ker 6 times and tried for 7 but got help. But each, for whatever excercise, I try to increase somewhat. I know some guys who try to make 20 pound jumps up to 50 pound jumps. Some can manage to do it, some cant. I may be in between those 2 numbers somewhere. Damn this s**t is fun!

When I normally hit the 225x5 I usually have enough in me to probabaly hit another 4 more. When I hit 225x7 I did it a lot easier than I normally do, so I jumped up.
The A/C is also out in the gym. The crowds are thin because it's about 90*+ in there. Oh well, I kind of like it. Leaving the gym covered from head to toe in sweat makes me feel like I've done something. And yes, I'm staying hydrated.
There's no huge rush on hitting 315 at the time. It'd be nice, but I want to take it slow to avoid injury.
By the way, I'm 5'10" 190lbs.
Thanks again.

i have just recently joined a gym and started working out. i have gained about 35 lbs since ive been in college. and i'm only in my second year. i am 5'7" 200. i already have some juice. but my plan is to wait until i get down to 185 before i start using it. is that a good plan. one of my friends said to just start and the muscle would burn the fat but i don't know about that so i wanted to ask some guys with some experience? thanks

i remember hittin 300 on incline that was nice, more stares doing that then on flat but considering the average male i think can squeak by bencing 135, 300 is alot

do sets of 5 reps example 135x10,185x5,225x,255x5,300x1 this kind of workout really strenthins the tendons good for 1 rep max.

I also recommend doing alot of good old fashion ab work and lower back excercises. I assure, bench press, shoulder press, actually any workout would improve dramatically with those body parts being developed well.

Good job bro, get a bench shirt and kick it up to 350, haha. I remember when I was a kid and hit 100kgs (220) in the bench I was overjoyed too. There is something about stacking those 20kgs or 45 lbs on the bar.
