    Crystalized gear

What causes crystalization of gear and is it garbage once it's like that?
I think I have heard to heat it sometime before. If so can you include instructions how?

    Input here?

    It crashes(comes out of suspension).

Take a pot of water.Place it on the stove and bring it to just under a boil.Swirl the vial in the water til the crystals dissolve. It's a good idea to refilter. Also let the gear sit for at least 24 hrs to see if it holds. The last thing you want to do is shoot gear that has crashed.

What does it look like exactly. Will there be an obvious sign?

  4. #4
yes, looks like wax floating around in your oil.

I see. What is the main cause for this? Lack of BA, low quality powder, etc?

  6. #6
not enough bb or just trying to make it to strong. over 300mg/ml.

this was prop (100mg). So you think heating it can help. I'll try it and see.

pinnacle I've never filtered before. This is bought gear. The supplier is replacing it, but I'm hoping to salvage this one.
Do I need to filter and if so HOW?

Heat it up as mentioned...also could add more solvent to it, but this would change your mg/mL ratio...filtering??? !!!GO TO THE LAB SECTION OF THIS SITE!!!

I'd refilter it and replace it with filtered oil, why not get a free prop for your troubles.

did get a replacement prop. I wonder if I can salvage this one too or if I should throw it out.
If I heat it and it works how important then is filtering it?

Do yourself a favor and just throw it away.Once you try to retrieve crashed gear,it's usually painful to shoot. If you knew about homebrewing I could tell you what to do,but since you don't.I won't get into it.

    Chuck it and move on.

Pinnacle, while I have not homebrewed before you do know what I do professionally so you know I am a smart enough guy to figure stuff out.

So let's give this a shot here.

I'm not questioning your ability to figure out how to retrieve the gear.

As a home brewer you'd have BA/BB/whatman filters/sterile vials and mixing vials lying around. You don't have those items, and to go out and purchase those things just to fix a measly 10 ml of Prop isn't worth it from a financial prospective.
So like I said previously, let it go.You had the item replaced by your source.

No I didn't think you were doubting me at all. Just reminding you of what I do, so I should be able to handle it just need an experienced person to help.

10 mls or 20 mls makes no difference at all.You don't have the proper supplies on hand to retrieve it properly. It will cost more to buy the supplies than the prop probably cost you.

    Once again,let it go.

haha, forget about that 2dollars worth of prop! You'd have to spend a good 30-50$ just to fix it.

    OK then, understood.
The manufacturer email me saying you can just heat it up and it should be fine, doesn't sound like that's the message here at all. I trust you pinnacle, so is the manufacturer dead wrong?

Reread post #2,,,,,,,,,if that doesn't work,or should the prop be painful(next day soreness) to shoot(strong possiblity)then other measures could be taken to correct the problem...that's what I'm saying.

Good luck on whatever you choose to do.....

Definately leaning towards tossing it, but I think I will try just to see what'll happen (experiment). It will be interesting. Will probably STILL toss it even it clears up, but it'll be a neat experience.
Thanks for your advice. I will let you know what happens.

Oh, btw I get next day soreness neary everytime I shoot. Any problems?

btw I get next day soreness usually after I shoot. You mentioned soreness as a sign, what problems are you refering to? and do you see a problem cause of current next day soreness?
