I always checked to see if my nipples felt sore or itchy when I was on a PH cycle. Those were some pretty good indications that I was at the early stages of Gyno.

Gyno will generally have some other signs, itchy nips(this one always gets me), sore nips, and a lump under the skin. Most of the hair follicles you have there will be on the outside edge of the nipple and protrude slightly form the base of the nipple, the lumps formed by gyno are typically more to the center and under the skin not protruding, so you have to feel around to find them.
