When injecting, once the needle passes through the skin/fat and goes into the muscle, how is it possble to inject into a vein? Are there veins in the muscle? I've always wondered this.

Yes there are veins in there, at any depth.
aspirate......if you hit a vein you will know it!!!
yup, you have veins all over....arteries, too....usually the larger veins are close to the surface, but arteries are pretty deep....If you stick (no pun) to the recommended sites and aspirate, you'll be fine.
ALWAYS aspirate. I have hit one major vein, it was in my thigh and it scared the shit out of me. I have always hated injecting thighs ever since.Originally Posted by lzicc

I always do aspirate, just never really knew if there were veins in the muscle or not. I pass through veins sometimes when getting into the muscle, but never pulled blood.
