Brining gear over the Border

Has anyone had any experience with bringing gear over the canadian borders through car???? I go to school in Michigan and I am going home for the summer and I will need to transport my gear across the border through Canada and into New York..What is the word on this?

Ok well I'm not the one driving home, I can't make that call...Also, wouldnt it be safer to bring it over the border than mail it, because they do random checks on the mail dont they??? but I think they only check for bomb material n shit....

Well if they find it your not going to be there to go into cuffs.If you get a seizure letter you know your not getting your stuff.I have been through the canadian border a few times without being checked but wasnt carrying anything.I would say usps is your safest bet.Less chances of getting cought and more chances of getting your stuff.

Ok well I have decided that mailing it would be a better idea...and I'm gonna mail it DHL or FedEx because USPS is government run you don't want that...secondly I will probably put a fake return addresss on there...thirdly I will probably ship it overnight, the more they are trying to hurry the package to me because I paid for the service, the less likely they will search it at all, which is unlikely to begin with, as well as the fact that its in their hands for much less time as well...your thoughts...

I have gone to Canada quite a bit and have never had a problem getting in... it has always been coming back to the US that they have asked questions and once searched the car....

You gotta remember to man I have to go through customs twice, once going out of the states and then coming back in at New York...So thats double the risk, also, like I said overnight delivery leaves no time for searching, which is extremely rare anyways, and DHL FED Ex UPS all privately owned, thus government free, unlike USPS...

i thought the deal was usps is gov. so they need a search warrent to check the pack. and the private, fed-ex, dhl, are private so they can search any time they want to? yes, no?

Ok safer, but just as effective is the key question?? I mean dude the odds of your package getting checked is slim to begin with, then compound it with over night delivery, then its really slim cause it has to be where u say the next day....Also its in their hands for less time no time for a check...
