    Blood Pressure tester?

Where's a good location to get a BP tester? Head is feeling slightly warm almost like getting a rush at times, and would like to check it out.

Also if it is a bit high what are some easy remedies to work on lowering it?

I got mine at Walgreens. They cost about $60.

BP cuffs are sometimes small(comparative I suppose) so I would try it on first before you buy.

Simple things like lowering sodium(salt) by watching your food/drink intake, hawthorn berry, garlic tabs, fish oil or flax oil will help, but if that is not working a Physician needs to handle it.

I feel like I'm getting a headrush sometimes, is this just my test kicking in or should I immediately assume high BP? It's not uncomfortable.

    I'm in week 4 of 500mg / week.

Sodium is going to be the major dietary adjustment. Get it under 1500mg day. Could be alot of things. Infection kicks up the bodys temp. But so can the androgens that you are plowing into your system. Much like the hot flashes that women get at menopause.
Make sure you get the correct cuff size. one that is too small will lead to a high reading and reverse for one that is too big. Make sure the bladder (in the cuff) is centered on the artery on the inside of your arm. Feel for the pulse before you start.
Lots of cheeses, beer and red wine have a subsatance called Tyramine in them that will kick up your blood pressure. It inhibits COMT and MAO in your nerve terminals which leads to increases in norepinepherine. Eliminate these. Are you on any other meds???? Caffiene should be eliminated.

Yes I'm on Test E. And I'm having no doubts it's the cup of coffee that I'm having in the morning and evening. Took a nap after posting this and now the caffeine is out of my system and the headrush is gone.

My sodium intake is pretty minimal my diet is fairly clean.

Haven't been drinking beer, or wine, and my cheese intake is extremely low.

    Sadly......I'll ditch the coffee. =(

Yeah I'll get over it, it's just that I really enjoy coffee and it was part of my morning ritual for years now.

But I'll do what it takes.

Go to Wal-Mart and get a Relion BP Monitor. You can get an extra large cuff for $10 so the total is about $64. I personally like Hawthorne, Garlic and Meditation to alleviate stress.

I like using the old fashion sphygmomanometer and stethascope method for measuring blood pressure. This is what your doctor will use when you go in for a checkup, it is an accurate and easy way to measure BP. If anyone wants to know how to check BP this way and what exactly your doc is doing let me know and I will write it out. But if no one is interested im not wasting my time lol.

Great info thanks for the help guys.

For now I eliminated the coffee that I was drinking 1 cup morning and 1 cup night, and I haven't experienced any head rush feelings since.
