Question Endurance Athlete First Cycle - Test E

    Howdy peoples

Here is my planned first cycle. I am an endurance athlete wishing to improve recovery, RBC and NOT gain weight!!! Looking for advise from other endurance athletes hanging around... And anybody else that knows their stuff...

    Week 1= Test E @ 125mg 2/week, 0.25mg A-dex ED
    Weeks 2 - 12= Test E @ 125mg 1/week, 0.25mg A -dex ED
*Nolva on hand just in case

    Weeks 14-18= Nolva @ 20mg ED

My question is basically how does this sound to you guys? Should I consider adding in, say, 200mg/week EQ? Does Nolva stuff up endurance?

    ABOUT ME
25yo. 8 years training experience. Have been reading these (and other) boards to the point of addiction . This is my first cycle. Compete at a very high level. 6ft (181cm) tall, weigh 169lbs/77kg. Reason for this post is that it's very difficult to find out good info for us endurance guys not wishing to put on bulk. So there you have it. Fire away

    Good Day Fellow Cyclist.

I think this is fine (for us endurance athletes)...although I would use 150 2x week.....but 125 may be fine for you. That being said, expect some weight gain unless you have a few 3 hour rides planned in your training schedule every week.

I would not add EQ. When it comes to AAS and us enduros....keep it simple man.

That being said your "EPO DREAMS" is what s/b considered your primary "supplement".....not AAS. Don't get carried away on these boards. AAS is the primary "supp" for BB, Powertypes, and Speed athletes.

sounds good. i wouldn't add a-dex untill week 3, and if you have no bloat then i wouldn't add it at all. also .25mg eod will be fine. your cycle loks fine for a cyclist. and at the 125mg of test yes you can add the eq,but it will take 6-10 weeks to kick in fully.

Echo what rawdog said....except I just don't like using many AAS compounds at once (for an endurance athlete). Our goal is to further increase recovery with AAS, not so much muscular hypertrophy. EPO already does this to an extent as well as increasing our aerobic capacity. Therefore, I believe in keeping it simple and only using a few AAS compounds, particularly ones that do well by themselves. Anyhow, this is my thought....not saying it is definitely right in all cases. You can decide for yourself.

start the A dex from the first week not 3rd.. keep the bloat/water retention down from the start.. you seem adamant not to gain any real size and not have bloat so i think it would be beneficial to start the a dex right away..

Thanks guys. I will prob start adex straight away and avoid any bloat from the get go. Would I be expected to gain any weight at all on this cycle? Assuming training and diet remains constant?

This is too low, even for an endurance athlete. You need somewhere around 250-350mg/wk.

Thanks for your opinion Joop - are u an endurance athlete? Or a BB'er? And why do you suggest the higher doses?

The reason i ask is that from the experienced endurance athletes (normally cyclists, like myself) on the boards, 250-350 would be cause too many unwanted side-effects, namely weight gain.

    BTW - It is a 250mg/ml, 10 ml vial. So yes, 0.5ml = 125mg.

im not sure of the exact figures, but the average male could possibly produce more testosterone naturally than 125mg EW. therefore, adding a lower-than-natural dose of artificial testosterone would shut you down (regardless of the dosage), and not replace the old test at the same time. i could be wrong on the figures here mind you, but it seems about right to me

You may want to take at least 300mg a week to make a difference, the thing is though, the more you take the more likely you will gain more weight as the dose increases. Kinda a catch 22 situation if ya get what Im sayin.

too low of a dose=no great increase, no weight gain
too high a dose= too much weight gain, more positive effects

Oh I'm not disputing if it's true or not - it actually sounds *somewhat* true to me. I just want to hear more opinions... and actual figures would be great.

Skullsmasher - you a right dude, I'm in a bit of a pickle

For the endurance guys out there - What are you feelings of a dose as high as 300mg/week? Too much weight gain?

  18. #18
Either way, 125mg is too low.

    or 250

yes definately interested on hearing the actual figures. just my 2 cents here, but on 300mg test a week, if you are not eating to gain weight, and not doing much resistance training (weights) then id imagine you wouldnt gain much weight, if any at all. use 0.5-1mg arimidex ED aswell, just to keep water at bay. again, any opinions on this much appreciated, as im just speculating and would like to know

I wouldn't recommend adex at all for an endurance athlete, since estrogen is very important for endurance. Just keep nolva on hand if u get itchy nips.

The average adult mail produces less tan 10mg of test a day
I found that in an old thread here.

125mg 2/week, 0.25mg A-dex ED = will do almost nothing. you need atleast 250 mg ... and that is really LOW

If i were you i would do 350mg w. adex and cardio and you will be fine.

i'm doing 100mg eod prop, and my weight went up 8#s then dropped down 3#s and has stayed there. i'm big for a cyclist anyway so i wasn't to concerned.
i know several guys who are doing those doses with good results. imo 250mg ew is good to start, but you can adjust your cycle. so if you want to start low go for it.

Estrogen is necessary for GH release & cellular glucose uptake, which is important for endurance. Estrogen increases the production of receptors for seratonin, norepinephrine & dopamine (as well as androgens), which increases pain threshold, amongst other things. This is obviously important for endurance athletes who need to push their bodies through a lot of pain. The small amount of aromatization that occurs with low dose test will be beneficial to you. Taking adex with such a low dose of test will give you sore joints & screw up your lipids. Btw, anything over 200-250mg of test a week is too much for an endurance athlete imo.

Thanks FLYBYU for the response. I have been doing some more searching and yes you are right. A-dex is not real good for endurance. I think I'll just keep it on hand.

    To quote http://www.steroid.com/Testosterone-Enanthate.php:
The adult male produces between 2.5 and 11mgs of Test per day
    ie. = b/w 15-77mg/week.

The same page also shows of the (many) positive effects of a low dose testosterone cycle, for those of you who like to think of a low dose as being next to useless or at least "do next to nothing" as PMORRIS tells us.

So in coinclusion it looks like I will stick roughly to my original plan, forgetting about EQ and keeping adex on hand in case I feel a bit bloated. Wish me luck

    best luck!

yeah my cycle was good, and it kept getting better. i decided to end it at eight weeks even though it was still getting better. this way i can do pct and get another cycle in later in the season.
